Founded in 1998, University "Magna Graecia" of Catanzaro, abbreviated as UMG, is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the small city of Catanzaro (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), capital city of Calabria, southern Italy region. Officially recognized by the Ministry of University and Research of Italy, UMG is a large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational Italian higher education institution. Also, UMG offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and PhD degrees in several areas of study. UMG also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.

Summer school's activities will take place in the University's laboratories, with high-end instrumentation for fabricationmeasurements and analysis.

...beside the campus

Only 8 kilometers far from the university there is the marine quarter of Catanzaro, called Catanzaro lido. It's a very dynamic and touristic place as there's the Ionian Sea and various entertainments. Circa 20 kilometers far from the campus, instead, you have the opportunity to visit another fantastic marine city, called Soverato with beautiful beaches.
